The clean, green, rabies-free status of New Zealand is vitally important to its economy and stringent regulations with regard to animal welfare and the importation of animals into New Zealand are administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MAF).

MAF vets will monitor your pet's stay in quarantine. All animals are examined closely on arrival and these examinations will continue with your pet at least once weekly.
